It only takes a little Faith

One of the biggest problems with home business entrepreneurs is having Faith and belief in what they are doing. Most try a few things to market their opportunity and hope they work, but it is the belief that makes it work.

You must believe in what you are doing. Sow your seed and expect to reap your reward. A classic illstartion comes from the bible in Mark 9 where a father brings his boy to Christ to be healed. Jesus says,”I can heal your son. If you will believe. I will heal him.” The father then says, “Lord, I do believe. Help me overcome my unbelief.” Have you ever felt like that? You know what you are doing is right, but yu are not sure if you will get the results you are after.

This is a problem with unbelief and doubt which is a killer of dreams.

Yet despite his doubts the father asked Jesus to heal his son and got what he asked for. You see, it only takes a little faith when your faith is in God. The faith of a mustard seed can move mountains if only you will believe in your heart that your God will grant your wishes.

Next time you present a project, try to close a sale, or get that contract you have been waiting for. Expect that you are going to succeed and have faith that God will provide according to His riches in glory. A Little Faith+ A Big God= Huge Results.

You take your little faith, “Lord, I believe. Help me with my unbelief.” You place your faith in our big God and He will show you how He works out big results.

The law of straight lines states, “The shortest path between 2 points is a straight line.”

It is one of the simple laws of geometry, but how does it apply to business?

If you want to take a trip from New York to LA, you would take the most direct route and not add extra steps, like a stop off in Atlanta.

Unfortunately, we tend to add extra steps when trying to get something we want. Many times those extra steps prevent us from getting to our destination at all.

Anything you want in life is subject to this simple, but powerful law. So why don’t we live our lives like this every day?

The problem is, you are bombarded with so many distractions every day that the straight line is no longer obvious.  The world is full of people trying to sell you on the idea that you need some other steps, like their magical product, that we have been trained to believe that these other steps are necessary.

How many times have you sat down to do something only to be caught off guard be an email, a phone call, or even a thought that came into your head that you had an impulse to act on? Did it hinder the process of what you were trying to get accomplished? Did you even get back to the task at hand, or was it forgotten about and left for ‘another day’?

You can have all the right intentions and positive thinking and even faith that you are going to get results from your business, but the bible says in James 2:16 “If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; stay warm and well fed’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if not accompanied by action, is dead.”

Take positive action in the direction you wish to go and stay on the path until you reach your goals. Do not stray to the right or the left, but keep a straight line.

You Are Not An Accident

God Doesn’t Play Dice. Albert Einstein

Your birth is no mistake or mishap, and your life is no fluke.  You are alive because God wanted to create you. The Bible says, “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me.”

Do you know what your purpose in life is? A good place to start is to read “The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren.

You will only find the meaning and purpose for your life when you make God the focal point.

Here is a poem by Russell Kelfer that sums this up beautifully.

You are who you are for a reason.

You’re part of an intricate plan.

You’re a precious and perfect unique design,

Called God’s special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.

Our God made no mistake.

He knit you together within the womb,

You’re just what he wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones He chose,

And no matter how you may feel,

They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind,

And they bear the Master’s seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.

And God wept that it hurt you so;

But it was allowed to shape your heart

So that into his likeness you’d grow.

You are who you are for a reason,

You’ve been formed by the master’s rod.

You are who you are, beloved,

Because there is a God.

If you know that God uniquely created you, what areas of your personality, background and physical appearance are you struggling to accept?

Accepting Your Assignment

It was God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives through Jesus Christ; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend this life in helping others. Ephesians 2:10

You were put on this earth to make a contribution, not just to consume resources. God designed you to make a difference with your life.

While many books offer advice on how to ‘get‘ the most out of life, that is not what you were made for. You were created to ‘add‘ to life on earth, not just take from it.

This is one of God’s purposes for your life and is called a ministry or service.

Whenever you serve others in any way, you are actually serving God and fulfilling one of your purposes. The Bible says “It is he who saved us and chose us for his holy work, not because we deserve it, but because that was his plan.”  You are not saved by service, but you are saved for service.  This gives your life great significance and value.

How much of your time are you being useful in the service of God?

Jesus said, “Your attitude must be like my own, for I, the Messiah, did not come to be served, but to serve and to give my life.”

It is not enough to keep learning more and more. We must act on what we know and practice what we claim to believe. We must share the knowledge with others, for this is our purpose. The old comparison between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea is true. Galilee is a lake of great life, for it takes in water but also gives it out. In contrast, nothing lives in the Dead Sea because with no outflow, the lake has stagnated.

So what does this all mean for you and your business practices? The common practice in MLM and Network marketing is to sell yourself and people like Mike Dillard and Jim Rohn preach giving as much as you can and people will follow you. Well, they are completely correct and have made fortunes for themselves by repeating a command that was given by Jesus 2000 years ago. Serve other people and you will be blessed abundantly.

If you are not helping other people with their business and trying to do whatever it takes to make their business grow, you should start now, for you will get more people to follow you and be blessed with a life of prosperity.

Get out there and make a difference.
