What is Your story?

Everyone has a story about how they came to be where they are in life and people are attracted to those stories. You see in business all the time the rags to riches stories and what they offer people is hope.

As Mike Dillard says, you have to think of your business as YOUinc. That means you have to market yourself and your story and get people drawn to you through trust and worth.

People get drawn to stories, especially if they can relate to your situation and then believe they can copy what you have done to have the same success.

Stories convey emotions, and emotions sell, but you have to have a good product to back you up. If you are selling a sub standard product, you will end up with unhappy, dissatisfied customers who are not good for business.

So, here is my story. See if it is not similar to many that are struggling in the current economy. You may have gone through similar tough times yourself.

I am a husband and father of 6, therefore require a good paying career to provide for them all. I started out as a teacher and coach, but that didn’t pay enough and the bigger my family grew, the less time I was spending with them and the less money we had to go around. I had to find another profession. I began to flip houses, which was great for a while until the market collapsed. During that time we upgraded to a nice big house and new car, but as soon as the collapse hit us, we were left with 4 houses we could not sell. Needless to say, we lost them all and couldn’t pay to keep our own house either.

We started to see things slip away from us until we were left with nothing. Our car was repossessed, our house was foreclosed and we were homeless and carless. Thank God for my wife’s parents who took us in and gave us a place to stay and a car to drive.

I felt like such a failure, but there was nothing I could do that would make enough money to get out of our situation. I was making just enough money to keep food on the table and pay for a couple of bills and put gas in the car. There seemed no way out.

I had been involved in a few MLM companies and liked the idea of a team and and residual income and great wealth, but that never happened. I did the whole friends and family thing and that was a disaster. I found that although I thought MLM was a great idea, I was terrible at convincing others it was so great.

Like many people, I was searching for something else. I had looked at Carbon Copy Pro about a year before and though it was a good system, but didn’t have the money to get going, so i passed it up. But, like a good company, I was still getting emails from them a year later and it caught my attention again. I found myself with a bit of money at that time to give it a go. It was the last of the money I had and new there was not any coming back to me any time soon, so I new this had to work.

These were all things I struggled with trying to start my own business.

So, the only thing I had to do was get traffic, and the whole course teaches you step by step how to do that. I new from there it was just a numbers game and the more leads I got the bigger my paychecks would be.

Needless to say, a few months later, I found myself out of my in-laws house and living on the beach in Florida. I can’t believe  change what a life change it has been and I thank God that I finally took the chance and bought the right course where I could follow a system and make money.

My wife and kids love it here at the beach and I get to do my work sitting by the pool or outside on the balcony. What a dream.
